How to choose a fulfillment provider: a practical checklist
By MY ARRAY · Content updated
Choose a provider based on product fit, transparent costs, and verifiable operations. Request written scope and terms, then test representative orders before moving the full workload.

Check these points before comparing prices
- Can the warehouse handle your product dimensions, weight, and requirements?
- How is storage measured, and are there minimums or contract periods?
- Is picking charged per item or per order, and how are packaging materials billed?
- What are receiving windows, order cutoffs, and holiday arrangements?
- What evidence and claims process apply to incorrect, damaged, or missing goods?
Test realistic system scenarios
| Scenario | What to check |
|---|---|
| Orders from multiple channels | Correct SKU mapping and no duplicate orders |
| Insufficient stock | Ownership of the issue and notification process |
| Cancelled or edited order | Change deadlines and handling after picking starts |
| Returned product | Condition checks and rules for restocking |
Ask for evidence behind broad promises
Request sample reports, photographs or a warehouse visit, and stock-count procedures. For accuracy or speed figures, ask about the measurement period, order count, and error definition so the numbers are comparable.
Plan both onboarding and exit
Define contacts on both sides, opening-stock signoff, test orders, and issue handling during launch. Also check data export, stock withdrawal, and exit charges.
What to send MY ARRAY for an assessment
Provide product categories, SKU count, dimensions and weight, order volumes, items per order, sales channels, and packing examples. The team can use these to assess scope and prepare a quotation. Confirm specific service terms before starting.
